French Ambassador to Armenia: Status Quo in the Karabakh Conflict is Unacceptable

France is concerned about the escalation of the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in the contact line and does not spare any effort so as the situation does not worsen after the efforts and the meeting of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Paris.

This was said by the French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Jean-François Charpentier in Armenia in an interview to Armenpress, stressing that the French President Francois Hollande has great involvement in the peace process.

"We believe that a negotiated solution and the global agreement based on Madrid three fundamental principles must continue to be on the table. The status quo is unacceptable," – the Ambassador said.
