NATO’s Missile Defense Is Not Directed Against Russia
US Department of State deputy spokesperson Marie Harf told journalists on Wednesday that US or NATO don’t plan to set ballistic missile defense systems on the territory of Ukraine.
She also stated that NATO’s missile defense is not directed against Russia, but against threats from the Middle East, Sputnik News reports.
"There is no offer or plan to place US or NATO ballistic missile defense systems in Ukraine", - she said.
It should be noted that previously Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that if Ukraine deployed elements of US missile defense systems on its territory, then Russia would need to respond in order to ensure its own security.
