Warlick: the Judgment of ECHR does not Change the Position of Co-Chairs for Peaceful Settlement of Karabakh Conflict
The judgment of the European Court of Human Rights does not change the commitment of the parties of the Karabakh conflict to work towards a settlement. This was stated by the US Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick, with the request of NEWS.am commenting on the recent judgement of the ECHR on two cases "Sargsyan v. Azerbaijan" and "Chiragov v. Armenia."
In an answer to the question whether the decisions do not contain wording dangerous for the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh and commenting on the statement of Baku that the decision is "the first legally binding document establishing the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenia," James Warlick said: "The Co-Chairs are set to work with the parties for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The judgment of the ECHR does not change either this position or the readiness of parties of the Karabakh conflict to work towards settlement."
