Erdogan Held a Telephone Conversation with Nazarbayev
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazaebayev held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Erdogan, DailyNews.kz reports with a reference to the press service of the Head of Kazakhstan. The conversation was held with the initiative of the Turkish side.
The Presidents discussed a number of actual international and regional issues. The two sides exchanged views on the crisis in Syria and the incident with the Russian Su-24M.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed his regret about the incident, as well as concern over the deterioration of Russian-Turkish relations. The President stressed that these ties were built over the years and today the parties need to take responsibility for their preservation. In this regard, to fully clarify the incident and find a way out of this situation a bilateral commission was asked to be created.
In turn, Erdogan reiterated his readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed hope that the parties will use all possible measures to de-escalate the situation.
