Canada and Mexico Can Use Sanctions Against US
The World Trade Organization ruled that Canada and Mexico can put more than $1 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation for meat labeling rules it says discriminated against Mexican and Canadian livestock, Fox News informs.
An arbitration panel of the World Trade Organization decided that the US policy, known by its acronym COOL, was unfair because it puts imported livestock at a disadvantage to domestic livestock.
According to the US this policy the labels are on packaged steaks and other cuts of meat that say where the animals were born, raised and slaughtered.
