eonline.com

It has been more than a year that the US presidential election campaign is going, but the real race is just beginning.

The Democrat Hillary Clinton and the Republican Donald Trump have both claimed their nominations, but how will Americans decide which one to choose as their president for the next four years?

Now begins just over three more months of stump speeches, town hall meetings and non-stop campaigning, The ABC news writes.

To win the presidential election on November 8, Trump or Clinton needs to win at least 270 electoral college votes.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll on Friday, Hillary Clinton held a six-point lead over Republican rival Donald Trump.

Nearly 41 per cent of likely voters favour Clinton, 35 per cent favour Trump, and 25 per cent picked "Other," according to the new July 25-29 online poll of 1,043 likely voters, Reuters reports.

Both candidates were on the campaign trail on Friday, kicking off what is expected to be a hotly contested general election battle.

Already a number of celebrities have spoken out in support of either Trump or Clinton.

Let's take a look at the stars who'll be voting for the Democrat and five who'll be voting for the Republican.

According to Washington Post, Hillary Clinton is leading the pack. She has Beyoncé, Sting, Lady Gaga, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Stevie Wonder, Tom Hanks, Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry, Elizabeth Banks, Eva Longoria, Jane Fonda, Alicia Keys, Chloë Grace Moretz, Meryl Streep, Demi Lovato, George and Amal Clooney in her corner.

Hillary also has an advantage among female voters, college-educated voters and the LGBTI community.

While Donald Trump’s list reads like a collection of muscly dudes, also-rans and loose cannons: Gary Busey, Hulk Hogan, Jean Claude Van Damme, Ted Nugent, Lou Ferrigno, Caitlyn Jenner, to name a few.

Mr Trump has his eyes on the old rust belt of the industrial mid-west, from Pennsylvania to Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.
