Ukraine Submits Claim against Russia to International Court of Justice
The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Foreign Ministry to submit a claim against Russia to International Court of Justice for violating the UN Convention on countering the financing of terrorism and the UN Convention on elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination.
"The Russian Federation flagrantly violates international law by illegally annexing Crimea for 3 years. It illegally occupied the Crimea, east of the country, Donetsk and Lugansk regions, implements a policy of destruction and discrimination," said Poroshenko.
This request was made within the framework of the Convention on countering terrorist financing. "It is a long and hard work. We have sent a number of notes and held numerous sessions, "he said.
