All Mothers Should Be Proud that Their Children Are Ready to Serve: Mother of Serviceman

Today - on January 28 all Armenians are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the formation of Armenian Army. The addressees of the congratulations of the Day of the Army besides our soldiers are also those thousands of families whose children have recently gone to the army.

Recently recruited Max Tumanyan's mother, Mary Karapetyan, has not yet got used to being away from her son, but at the same time she is very proud of him. "I am proud that I have a healthy son, who serves in the army," she said in a talk with "Armedia" IAA.

Mary said that despite the fact that a very short period has passed, she already feels that her son is more independent, more self-confident. "I feel that the service life of my son is a new beginning," she said.

Mary advised all the parents of soldiers to be patient. "We should all be proud moms as our children are ready to serve, they are healthy and brave."

She congratulated Armenians on the occasion of Army Day. "I wish peace to Armenian people. Every child is his family's column. Let everyone return home healthy. "

Sargsyan Edward's mother, a new recruited soldier who has been serving almost seven months in the Armenian armed forces, said, that her perceptions were different at first. When her son was first recruited, the worry and fear was much greater. "He says he is now better adjusted. Of course there is a change in him. My son was a teenager when leaving for military service. Now I feel that he is a mature man."

"It is obvious that everything was different at home, the clothes, the food etc." said Narine in a talk with "Armedia" IAA, pointing out that however she recognizes the importance of a certain severity, the importance of keeping the soldier cautious and alert. "By the way, I am very grateful for his severity to the commander George Mangasaryan who treats very well to his soldiers, "she said with a smile.

"The officers are very respectful, polite, and soldiers know what to do, "said the soldier's mother. The only concern of Edward's parents was that their son had been sent to border service shortly after being recruited.

"The new Defense Minister ordered to send the soldiers to borders only after six months of their educational service, and I think it is a very positive decision.’’

Narine also took advantage of the opportunity of an interview and suggested the Defense Ministry not to send to the first line those soldiers whose families have only one male child "It would be a very good approach," she said.

Congratulating on the Day of the Army, the soldier's mother wished peace which is a priority in our country. "Every soldier is the light of his home, let everyone come back to their mothers."

We also talked with Edward's sister, Christine, who had already managed to wear his uniform. "I feel proud wearing the uniform of the soldier, being a sister of a soldier, although I must say that I miss him very much too." Asked what she thought about the idea of a "woman in army" she said that it was her dream to serve in the army, although she realizes that men and women cannot serve in the same way.
