Kazakhstan Will Give $100 Million to Kyrgyzstan for Its Eurasian Integration
Kazakh Parliament's lower house has ratified the agreement on the allocation of $100 million to Kyrgyzstan as an assistance for a country's integration to the Eurasian Economic Union, Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
The draft agreement was presented to the legislators by the Minister of of National Economy Timur Suleimanov.
"The money is meant for implementation of the road map for Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EEU, in particular, improvement of customs infrastructure, bringing sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary systems of Kyrgyzstan in line with the EEU standards."
The assistance will be provided in several phases in accordance with separate inter-governmental protocols on technical cooperation in the form of money, training services and goods. The agreement will also includes signing of a separate protocol to the agreement on the order of providing assistance and control over its use.
A joint audit commission to ensure targeted and effective use of the provided assistance will be established within the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council.
