Brexit: Queen's Speech for 2018 Canceled

Queen's traditional throne speech, which opens the new session of the British Parliament every year, will not take place in 2018, the British government said. 

In connection with the country's exit from the EU the next parliamentary session will last two years instead of one, as usual, said the chairman of the House of Commons, Andrea Ledsom. This was stated by the chairman of the House of Commons, BBC reports.

According to parliamentarians, such an unusual step will give them enough time for scrupulous work on the necessary bills in the framework of  Brexit.

This year, the Queen's speech will take place, but by decision of Elizabeth II herself it was postponed for two days to give the Conservatives more time for negotiations on an agreement with partners.
