On June 14, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Bulgaria on an official visit, met with the deputies of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Bulgaria.
Minister Mirzoyan and the Head of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group Atanas Zafirov, agreed that over the years, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation has been established between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral dimensions, based on historical ties, mutual sympathy and trust. The significant role of the Armenian community operating in Bulgaria for centuries in strengthening the Armenian-Bulgarian relations was emphasized.
The interlocutors referred to parliamentary diplomacy as an important direction for the development of relations between the two countries, noting in this regard the intensification of contacts between the parliamentary groups and cooperation within the international parliamentary platforms.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on the prospects of promoting cooperation between Armenia and Bulgaria in the fields of economy and trade, tourism, education and culture, for which there is a rich legal basis containing more than 60 documents.
