Armenia urges CoE to ensure Azerbaijan's implementation of ECHR interim measures
Armenia urges the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers to undertake decisive steps to ensure the implementation by Azerbaijan of interim measures indicated by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Panorama.am reports.
Addressing the Committee of Ministers meeting on Friday, Ambassador Arman Khachatryan, Armenia's permanent representative to the Council of Europe, warned of the severe humanitarian consequences amid the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of the Lachin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia, Armenia in the Council of Europe said in a tweet.
“Amb. Khachatryan at Ministers’ Deputies meeting noted that the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan leads to severe humanitarian consequences for Nagorno-Karabakh,” it said.
“Armenia calls on the CM to undertake decisive steps to ensure the implementation by Azerbaijan of interim measures indicated by the ECHR,” the Armenian mission added.
