Washington is Likely to Provide Military Assistance to Kiev

Washington has not excluded the possibility of providing military assistance to Kiev, reports the New York Times. "The president of the US has not made such a decision yet, but after several defeats of the Ukrainian armed forces during the last week, the Obama administration is again discussing the question of providing military assistance to Kiev," – writes the newspaper by adding that the policy of sanctions did not make Russia stop military assistance to the rebels as a result of which the Obama administration now considers it necessary to provide military assistance to Kiev.

"Though we try to find diplomatic ways for settling the problem, other options are also being discussed, which will create necessary conditions for the negotiation process," – said the representative of the US National Security Council Bernadette Mihan

It is assumed that the question for providing military assistance to Ukraine will be discussed with the US State Secretary John Kerry on Thursday during his visit to Kiev.
