Brain Can Function Even if Some Parts of it are Missing
As many medical studies have shown the brain of a man can function quite well even if some parts of it are missing, writes BBC.co.uk. It seems that this would affect on the mental health of a person, but this is not the case. Here a question arises – how much brain do we need for normal functioning of the brain? Recently stories appeared in different websites about people with damaged or missing parts of brain, who, however, have a relatively normal way of life. This means that we thoroughly do not know how our brain works.
A story of a woman appeared in the internet, which said that this woman was born without cerebellum - it coordinates and regulates muscular activity. It may sound very surprising but that woman has a very common life – she finished school, married and gave birth to a child.
Of course, one cannot say that the absence of cerebellum does not have any influence on her – she has difficulties in moving. On the other hand it is also surprising that this woman can move at all.
These kind of examples show that even today the scientists have not been able to have a clear picture on how the brain works.
