Putin is Stuck in the Soviet Past: Barack Obama
"I don’t want to do psychological analysis of Vladimir Putin’s inner world, I just want to state that he is stuck in the Soviet past",- US president Barack Obama told in the interview to BuzzFeed, the Voice of America reports.
"The individuality of Russian president was developed during the times of the Soviet Union; Putin was the head of KGB, where he gained his experience. He continues to look at things through the Soviet prism."
According to Barack Obama Putin’s "Cold War" thinking made him lose a lot of opportunities for the diversification of Russian economy, for deepening cooperation with its neighbors and changing the aggressive Soviet style with something else. Obama noted that this is bad not only for Russia, but also for the US, as there is possibility that old expansionist ideas will start to dominate in Russia and those ideas have no place in the 21st century.
