Armenia's President Recalls the Armenian-Turkish Protocols

The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan addressed a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Galust Sahakyan informing about his decision to recall the Armenian-Turkish Protocols from the RA National Assembly. In the letter the RA President mentions that Armenia was aware of all possible scenarios of future development when  launching the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations without preconditions. "We were ready for both options - comprehensive normalization of relations through ratification of the protocols and their failure, as we had nothing to conceal, because it would become clear to the international community which party was really guilty for not opening the last closed border in Europe and for missing the opportunity," – Mr. Sargsyan said in the letter.

The RA President also mentioned in the letter that he has spoken a lot, also in the UN General Assembly in 2014, that time is not infinite. "I am sorry that our calls were not heard by the Turkish authorities"
