Independent Deputy: Turkey is Responsible for the War in the Region

In those days the Turkish Government headed by Ahmet Davutoglu faces criticism. The reason is both the internal and external politics of the Turkish government that has raised a wave of complaints.

As it is known the Turkish Parliament is discussing the Security Bill presented by the government. Though the Turkish authorities claim that this bill "complies with the EU standards and are necessary for the protection of freedom", according to the critics it contains some provisions that will make Turkey a police state. In spite of the protests of the opposition, the first 10 Articles have already been adopted by the Parliament. The opposition accuses the ruling party for acting like a criminal, Today’s Zaman writes.

All the three opposition parties of the Parliament joined their efforts to prevent the adoption of the bill. "This bill is consistent with martial law," – declared the General Secretary of the opposition Republican People’s Party, Gürsel Tekin. The critics of the bill mention that it will empower the country’s Interior Minister and the governors appointed by the government to declare state of emergency. However, they mention that officially it will be called otherwise. The bill will also significantly strengthen the powers of the police.

Besides, the government is also condemned for intervening in Syria and moving the remains of Suleyman Shah Tomb. The critics mention that this operation proves that Ahmet Davutoglu’s policy on Syria has failed. "Unfortunately, this is a consequence of foreign policy mistakes," said independent deputy Hakan Shukyure. "We have become a country that is isolated and is responsible for the war in the region," Today's Zaman quotes the words of the Deputy.

On this occasion Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay said: "In short, our ancestors turned in their grave." He added that this action is the result of the failure of unfounded claims of the Syrian politics and government.
