Total Eclipse on March 20
For many of us it is a real fun to see a solar eclipse. On March 20 the moon is going to cover the sun, which will be visible from London, where 90 per cent of the sun will be enclosed. It will be best seen from Norway and Faroe Islands.
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity has warned that the eclipse will cause a great damage to the European electricity system, reports Cityam.com. There is an estimation that as a result of eclipse 35,000MW of solar energy, which is equivalent to 80 medium conventional generation units, will fade from the electrical system. It means three minutes of the total eclipse of the sun causes two hours cease of electricity for whole Europe. The risk of various incidents will be serious if there are not appropriate countermeasures. So, the electricity system needs to be improved.
