Job Boom in US
The United States created 257,000 new jobs last month. It is the best index in employment history since 1994. The Labor Department of US informed that in November and December, 2014 additional 147,000 jobs were created, BBC reports. These numbers, which were not recorded during the past 17 years, are underlining the strength of the economic recovery in US. The unemployment rate edged higher to 5.7% as the number of people having a job rose slightly. Wages also recorded positive move. Hourly wage was raised by 12 cents to $24.75 in January. It was the biggest gain since the year of crisis. Compared with the previous year the hourly pay has increased by 2.2%.
There is one more significant data about US employment: 76.5% of men aged 16 to 64 are employed compare with 81% in mid 2008. The data shows recovery after the crises.
Summarizing the numbers described above there are additional 3.2 million Americans in the workforce then it was a year ago.
