Sarkozy's Party Won the Local Elections
The conservative party of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy won the first round of the local elections in France held on March 22, Reuters reports.
According to the latest information, given by euronews, Sarkozy’s party secured around 30% of the vote, while the National Front came in second with around 26%.
After the elections, as France 24 reports, Sarkozy declared that there will not be any alliance between his party and FN candidates in next Sunday’s second round.
