Tigran Sargsyan Starts His Duties as the Head of the Executive Body of the EAEU

Ex-Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan started his duties as Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union). Sargsyan was confirmed in office in December 2015 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council of the presidents of the EAEU States. Tigran Sargsyan replaced the representative of Russia Viktor Khristenko, who has been holding the post from February 1, 2012.

The composition of the Commission has also changed. If previously, each State delegated three ministers, now they will delegate two ministers, the official website of the EAEU informs.

The Commission introduced a new ministerial post - Minister of Internal Markets, Information, Information-Communication Technologies. This post is held by Karine Minasyan, former First Deputy Economy Minister of Armenia.
