Azerbaijan Increased Gas Supply to Georgia
Mahir Mammadov, the head of SOCAR Energy Georgia, declared that Azerbaijan maximally increased daily gas supply to Georgia from Shah Deniz field, Trend News Agency reports.
According to Mammadov the increase in supply covers winter season.
"Before, seasonal deliveries varied from 1.5 million to 2.8 million cubic meters of gas per day, but now the upper limit increased up to 3.2 million cubic meters of gas per day. Thus, the supply ratio will be 70 to 30 percent in winter and summer, compared to 60 to 40 percent supplied before."
In addition Mammadov noted that the annual gas consumption is 2.4 billion cubic meters in Georgia.
"Some 750-800 million cubic meters of gas is being supplied annually to Georgia from Shah Deniz field, 1.4 billion cubic meters – by Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company SOCAR, other 200 million cubic meters – by Russia," added Mammadov.
