GOES-16 Will Improve Weather Forecasting

GOES-16 launched in November 2016 showed the first full image of the entire Western Hemisphere with swirling clouds over North and South America and the ocean from Guam to the coast of West Africa, ShareAmerica informs referring to the Associated Press.
In addition to taking breathtaking photos of the "blue marble" — Earth as seen from space — GOES-16 will improve weather forecasting with sophisticated new ways to monitor hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, volcanic ash clouds, wildfires, lightning storms and even solar flares.
