RA NA Speaker and the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Discussed Armenian-Japanese Relations
Over a quarter century the Armenian-Japanese relations have been sustainably developing, expanding in new spheres and replenishing with a new content, Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) Ara Babloyan said on Monday, while receiving Eiji Taguchi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia, Panorama.am reports.
As the press service of the Armenian Parliament told Panorama.am, Mr. Babloyan underscored that the development of the mutually beneficial cooperation with Japan occupies an important place in the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia, and there is a special interest in our country towards history and culture of Japan.
The Head of the Parliament highlighted the role of the active cooperation and the inter-parliamentary ties, especially the parliamentary Friendship Groups on the agenda of the Armenian-Japanese bilateral relations.
The NA Speaker expressed readiness to promote the strengthening of the Armenian-Japanese inter-parliamentary relations.
Ara Babloyan expressed hope that Japan will continue to show its adopted balanced position over the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Eiji Taguchi emphasized the Constitutional reforms in our country, the transition to the parliamentary system of government, noting that it is one more step by which Armenia approaches Japan.
At the end of meeting, the interlocutors have noted that the sakuras growing in the National Assembly Park symbolize the Armenian and Japanese peoples’ friendship, which deepens year by year irrespective of geographical distance.
