President of Tajikistan Highlighted the Peaceful Solution of Karabakh Problem through Peaceful Negotiations

On October 30, within the framework of the official visit to Tajikistan the delegation led by the RA NA President Ara Babloyan met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, official page of RA National Assembly reports.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the current state of bilateral cooperation and the perspectives of development, the inter-parliamentary cooperation, indicated the directions of cooperation in different spheres.

The interlocutors have underlined with satisfaction that the Armenian-Tajik relations are built on firm traditions of friendship, respect and mutual affection between the peoples of Armenia and Tajikistan and expressed conviction that in June of this year Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Armenia gave new impetus to bilateral relations. The sides expressed hope that the RA NA President's visit would also be a new impetus for strengthening and deepening of inter-parliamentary relations between Armenia and Tajikistan for the benefit of two friendly countries and peoples. In this context the parties underlined the effective cooperation of Friendship Groups.

The RA NA President Ara Babloyan has noted that the necessary legal-contractual basis is formed between Armenia and Tajikistan, which includes all spheres of cooperation. In the word of the Head of the RA Parliament, there is necessary potential for the further development of mutually beneficial and multi-sphere cooperation.

During the meeting thoughts were exchanged particularly over the importance of the rapprochement of the ties in the scientific, educational, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres. The interlocutors talked about the bilateral cooperation on the international platforms, touched upon the joint efforts of confronting the regional and international challenges.

In the course of the meeting the settlement of the conflicts were also touched upon. The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon highlighted the solution of the  Karabakh problem through peaceful negotiations.

After the meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan the RA NA President made a statement for the media. Ara Babloyan, noting that the delegation led by him is on an official visit upon the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, has considered significant that the visit of the parliamentary delegation takes place in the 25th jubilee year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"The Armenian-Tajik relations are built on the historical and friendly firm bases. Since the first day of the restoration of independence Armenia attaches great importance to the development and expansion of cooperation with friendly Tajikistan and the formation of the effective ties between the two countries, which will deepen and strengthen from now on.

In June of this year the official visit of the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to Armenia gave new impetus to the whole palette of bilateral relations. The agreements reached between the countries will promote the further enhancement of the political dialogue, the mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade-economic, scientific-technical, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres. We appreciate the attitude of the Tajik authorities towards the Armenian community, which is an important link connecting the two countries and peoples.

I hope that our official visit will also promote the further activation of cooperation between the legislative authorities.

We highlight the development of cooperation between the legislative bodies and parliamentarians of Armenia and Tajikistan based on the provisions of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

All our efforts will be directed to the establishment and preservation of peace and the two peoples’ welfare," Mr Babloyan said.
