EU to Set Up a Mechanism to Continue Legitimate Business with Iran
European Union countries will set up a mechanism to allow legitimate business to continue with Iran, a plan aimed at sidestepping sanctions and bolstering Europe’s independence from the U.S..
This was announced by EU HR/VP Federica Mogherini in New York late on Monday after meeting with the representatives of the other signatories of Iran Deal: the U.K., France, Germany, Russia, China plus Iran. European External Actions Service Twitter microblog informs about this.
“EU Member States will set up a legal entity to facilitate legitimate financial transactions with Iran. This will allow European companies to continue trade with Iran, within EU law, and could be opened to other partners in the world.” Federica Mogherini announced after the meeting.
