Nikol Pashinyan Invites Vietnamese YSU Alumni to Visit Yerevan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Mrs. Anna Hakobyan called at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Vietnam, where a reception was held for members of the Vietnam-Armenia Friendship Association. The Association brings together those who graduated from Armenian universities during Soviet times.

Greeting the Prime Minister and his spouse, the alumni said they cherished warm memories of Armenia and kept in close touch with the Armenian Embassy in Hanoi.

The Prime Minister said he was happy to see many so friends of Armenia contributing to Vietnam’s development. “Some 1000 Vietnamese students were trained in Armenian universities during the Soviet era, and today we have 1,000 ambassadors in this country,” Nikol Pashinyan said. He advised that during his interview with the Prime Minister of Vietnam they discussed the development of cooperation in the field of education and possibilities for implementing diverse programs.

Noting that this year marks the Yerevan State University’s 100th anniversary, the Premier invited all YSU alumni to attend the jubilee events this fall. The Friendship Association members welcomed Nikol Pashinyan’s initiative and thanked him for the meeting.

Armenian songs were performed during the meeting, held in a warm atmosphere.

Accompanied by RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Raisa Vardanyan, Nikol Pashinyan toured the Embassy to get acquainted with the staff’s working conditions.
