ORSIS: There is Progress on Tender for Arms Supply to Armenia
The Russian arms company ORSIS sees progress in the situation with a broken tender for the arms supply to Armenia, an official representative of the enterprise told RIA Novosti.
ORSIS was blacklised as suppliers of weapons to the armed forces of Armenia immediately after the failure of the Armenian Defense Ministry of a tender for the supply of military equipment for several million dollars, in which this company participated. Later, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia sent a letter to Defense Minister Tonoyan, and noted that the decision was "unmotivated".
Armenian security officials are investigating a criminal case on neglect of service. Later, a lawyer representing ORSIS in Armenia reported that the company was excluded from the black list.
"So, by a court decision, ORSIS was excluded from the blacklist of suppliers. This is a positive trend, as it provides an opportunity to continue our company’s cooperation with Armenia and to receive a modern and high-quality weapon for the republic, which is our long-standing partner," the representative noted.
According to him, information appeared in the Armenian media about the dismissal of senior officials from the Armenian Defense Ministry in connection with the situation with ORSIS.
"The company believes that the main perpetrators of the failure of the tender have not yet been punished. The reasons for the lack of official responses from the department to the meeting proposals are still incomprehensible. The company receives messages about the appropriation of samples of MO donated by ORSIS to specific officials of the ministry," the company representative added.
