Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party Leader Meets with Russia Ambassador
Leader of the opposition Bright Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan today had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, News.am reports.
Issues related to the situation created in the region after the war, the return of prisoners of war and the domestic political agenda in Armenia were discussed.
Ambassador Kopirkin viewed the continuity of the efforts of both sides for development of Armenian-Russian relations as important. In his turn, Tsarukyan reaffirmed the fact that the Russian Federation is the key guarantor of security in the region and Armenia’s irreplaceable strategic partner and stated that there is no alternative to the strengthening and ongoing development of Armenian-Russian political and economic ties.
Tsarukyan also asked Kopirkin to convey his gratitude to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for his active efforts to stop the war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and for supporting the Armenian people in the difficult situation.
