Why Should We Avoid Using the Term "NK conflict"?
The most acceptable and correct term for the Armenian sides is "Krabakh conflict" or "Artsakh conflict".
The most acceptable and correct term for the Armenian sides is "Krabakh conflict" or "Artsakh conflict".
In the expression "NKR-Azerbaijan line of contact" there are some problematic issues that need to be pointed out separately.
"Liberated territories" or the use of any other term makes a distinction between the NKR regions, separating the territory of the former Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Region and surrounding territories. In addition, the use of such terminology does not allow to get rid of associating Artsakh with conflict.
If the Azerbaijani side and the co-chairs have their motives for using the term Nagorno-Karabakh, then it is at least not logical and not acceptable its usage by Armenians. Today, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, though not being internationally recognized, with its established state institutions does not concede to any country.
