The Number of Tourists in Armenia Raised
According to the data published by the RA National Statistical Service on tourism, in 2014 1203.7 thousand tourists arrived in Armenia. Compared with the data of 2013, the growth is 11.3%, whereas 10% growth was predicted. This kind of growth is the result of different events implemented throughout the year that aimed at increasing the involvement of Armenia in tourism. During 2014 Armenia has participated in 10 international tourism exhibitions. Booklets and maps in 6 languages that present the sightseeing of Armenia were published.
In 2014 International Guide Training Center was officially opened in Armenia. It is noteworthy that this is one of the three such centers of the world and the only one in the region. The other two are in Cyprus and Malaysia.
