Azerbaijani FM Condemns Armenia's Chief of NSS over Karabakh Peace
During a phone conversation with Igor Popov, the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister has voiced his concerns over a recent statement made by the chief of Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) over Karabakh conflict.
"The statements by the Armenian leadership are not absolutely aimed at peace. The latest statement by the NSS director, specifically, [gives ground to concern]. I had a phone conversation in that connection with the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group," he said, Haqqin.az reports.
Earlier the head of the National Security Service of Armenia, in response to regular threats heard from Azerbaijan, replied: "I am a professional officer, and my job is to ensure security and to not allow any encroachment against the security system of Armenia and Artsakh; this is especially important in conditions when statements on resolving the conflict militarily, using force and the threat of force is being voiced nearly every day, at the highest levels from the neighboring country. Naturally, our security system must be ready to respond to these threats. The security level of Armenia and Artsakh cannot decrease at any moment in time; it should only increase every day."
And, before condemning the statements made by Armenian representatives, perhaps, Mr. Mamedyarov would rather notice the "log in his own eye," in particular, listen to Ilham Aliyev's statements in which there is no word about peace.
