Թուրքիայի Դիարբեքիր նահանգի Էյիլ շրջանում ամբարտակի դարպասի փլուզումից հետո հին գյուղի ավերակներ են երևացել, գրում է Daily Mail-ը:

1997թ.-ին կառուցված ամբարտակը 930 հազար բնակիչ ունեցող Դիարբեքիր քաղաքին խմելու ջուր է ապահովում: Անցած շաբաթ հորդառատ անձրևների պատճառով ամբարտակի դարպասներից մեկի փլուզման հետևանքով ջուրը հետ է քաշվել` երևան հանելով հնագույն գյուղի ավերակները՝ 78 բնակելի տուն, պատմական մզկիթը, գերեզմանատունը, սրբավայրը:

Ջրի տակ անցած օբյեկտների թվում է Եղիա մարգարեի գերեզմանը: Ամբարտակի կառուցումից առաջ՝ 1995թ.-ին, մարգարեի աճյունը հանվել և տեղափոխվել է Քալե թաղամասում կառուցված գերեզմանատուն:

A view of the Tomb of Elisha appeared after one of Dicle Dam's gates broke off leading to a drop in water level. The gate is believed to have broken off following heavy rainfall towards the end of last week

The remarkable structures were found in the Egil district of Diyarbakir, Turkey on Tuesday when the water levels surrounding the area dropped. An historical Mosque, a madrasa and graveyards were among the structures found

A view of the Tomb of Elisha was uncovered when the water level dropped. It is dedicated to Elisha, who has been venerated as a prophet in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is mentioned twice in the Quran as a prophet and is, according to scripture, 'among the excellent'. Before it was covered due to the building of the dam around twenty years ago, his corpse was removed and transferred to a tomb built in Kale Neighborhood in September 1995

House ruins were also made visible due to the drop in water levels, which occurred after a gate on the Dicle Dam broke. Construction work began on the dam in 1986 and it was completed in 1997, now providing drinking water to the city of Diyarbakir, Turkey

People were seen walking around the revealed structures soon after the water level dropped below them. Many of the structures now lie in ruin, but one building - a tomb to Elisha stands upright next to the waterfront
