Outbreak of New Fever Reported in North Korea: Reuters
An "unknown fever " has been spreading in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea since late April, Reuters reported on Friday citing the Korean Central News Agency, TASS reports.
Of the 350,000 people who developed fever symptoms, 162,200 have already recovered and the remaining 187,800 people are being isolated for treatment, KCNA said.
On Thursday, 18,000 new fever cases were reported, according to KCNA.
The Omicron BA.2 subvariant of COVID-19 was found in the republic, KCNA reported on Thursday. The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea convened a meeting that was attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He ordered a lockdown in all cities and counties.
