Iran Warns Against Trying to Tarnish IAEA Reputation

Cursorinfo

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has warned against trying to tarnish the image of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to NEWS.am Mehr reported.

As a party to the IAEA (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), Iran urges everyone to beware of further breach of IAEA confidence.

No one can remain silent about Israel's plan to build a hidden nuclear weapon, then declare impartiality and talk about Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, Khatibzadeh wrote on Twitter.

The news agency says that the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry meant the visit of the IAEA Director General to Israel and the talks with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Iran's nuclear program before the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors next week.

He was speaking after the US State Department announced on Thursday that the United States would work closely with its allies and partners, as well as the IAEA Board, to reach an anti-Iran resolution at this week's Governing Council meeting.
