EU planning assistance team arrives in Armenia for possible new civilian monitoring mission
On January 9, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the members of the EU technical assessment mission headed by Marcin Wydra. The team was sent to Armenia to consider the possibility of deploying a new EU civilian mission. The head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Andrea Victorin, also participated in the meeting.
The sides touched upon the activities of the EU monitoring mission which was completed on December 19. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated the role of the monitoring mission in strengthening stability in the region and preventing new aggressions against Armenia and expressed readiness to continue cooperation. A number of issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
