Putin: Kyiv’s Caims to Stop Gas Supply to Eastern Ukraine is Like "Genocide"
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin declared that Kyiv’s claims to stop gas supply to eastern Ukraine is like "genocide", euronews reports. He declared that the OSCE is speaking about humanitarian catastrophe in eastern Ukraine and in such circumstances now Kyiv declared that will cut off gas supplies here. "It looks like some Ukrainian leaders have no idea about humanitarian issues, about humanity," – Putin said, Aljazeera reports.
There is a great dispute over gas supply and prices between Ukraine and Russia. In response to what Kyiv declared Russia has started supplying gas directly to Donetsk and Luhansk, whereas Ukraine protested saying that it cannot control gas distribution in areas outside its control. At the same time Russia has warned that it will stop gas supply to Ukraine if it does not pay in advance for future deliveries.
Thus to come to a common solution, as Aljazeera informs, Russian and Ukrainian gas officials may meet in Brussels later this week to discuss the situation.
