Kazakhstan-Armenia: Platform of Cooperation
Strategy of development of Kazakhstan in the upcoming years, the problems that the Kazakhstani society faces, early presidential elections and questions of Armenia-Kazakhstan cooperation – topics that were discussed by students and lecturers of Ijevan branch of YSU with the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Armenia and with experts.
The seminar was organized by NGO "European Integration" with the joint efforts of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Armenia in the framework of "Kazakhstan-Armenia: Platform for Cooperation" project. During the conference the Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia Abu Zhanbolat Molgabayuli; the head of the Regional Studies at Information and Public Relations Center Manvel Ghumashyan; the head of NGO "Integration and Development" Aram Safaryan and orientalist, professor of YSU Naira Mkrtchyan delivered speeches.
Speakers, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia A. Bozzhigitov presented the new policy of Kazakhstan in the context of the global economic crisis, the ways of development of the country, including the message of President Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to the tolerance of the Kazakhstani people in accordance with country’s policy. The reports made by the speakers indicated the main directions of development of Kazakhstan's economy in the coming years, the need to overcome the crisis, especially the policy of Kazakhstan in relation to national minorities, as well as domestic and foreign policy trends of the development of Kazakhstan until 2050.
The participants of the event noted the importance of sharing best practice and the development of cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan. Students expressed an interest in the current politics of Kazakhstan in EEC and the vision of Kazakhstan about the enlargement of the structure. It should be noted that such meetings and joint discussions, exchange of experience have a vital importance due to Armenia’s accession to the EEC and the integration of the two countries in a single economic area.
