NATO Blames Putin for Nemtsov’s Murder
NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow blamed Vladimir Putin not only for his attempts "to turn Ukraine into a failed state" but also "in silencing dissent at home," Reuters reports . According to NATO official the Russian President was ultimately responsible for the murder of "Kremlin critic" Boris Nemtsov. On the occasion he particularly noted:
"President Putin's aim seems to be to turn Ukraine into a failed state and to suppress and discredit alternative voices in Russia. We've seen that the victims are not just in eastern Ukraine, with the brutal murder of Boris Nemtsov last Friday," Vershbow told members of parliament from EU countries at a conference in Riga.
