Georgian Prime Minister Launched a New Program of Regional Development

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili has called on businessmen to get involved in a government-proposed business project "Strong Region for Strong Georgia" in Akhaltsikhe. The presentation of the project was attended by the businessmen in addition to the central and local government officials.

"We will conduct presentations in all regions per week and present our vision on the regional development to the society and business representatives in order to promote the local business production generally in the regions and specifically here, too. This project will be the main driving force for all of us and interesting for each businessman,”- Prime Minister said during the presentation, Interpress.ge reports.

Garibashvili announced that the government and the local authorities would stand by the locals' side and would strongly contribute to ensuring their business’s success.
According to him, the only thing that has changed in recent years is appearances.
"We want to change this reality, we need real business, truly recovered historic monuments, truly functioning enterprises, developed cities, regions, and at this difficult stage, participation of businessmen is very important.  Therefore, I once again appeal to you to get involved in the government's proposed new project and to contribute to the strengthening of the region, which is a prerequisite for strengthening of our country. I believe in your patriotism, your capabilities and initiatives that will be implemented in the regions. We will support you, be it in transfer of property ownership for a symbolic price, roads, water or infrastructure - all will be co-funded by the state, both at central and local levels,"- mentioned the head of the Government.
