Clinton Foundation’s "Mistakes" Can be Resolved
Clinton Foundation made a decision to acknowledge "mistakes" and commit to transparency regarding its donors and operations; otherwise it is going to be big challenge and threat for coming presidential campaign for Hillary Rodham Clinton. The organization explained that only a Canadian based charity (that bears Bill Clinton’s name) would not disclose its donors because of restrictions in Canadian law, Washington Post reports.
The criticism over the foundation is about donations from foreign governments that were not properly reported since 2010. Accusation against the foundation is that the State Department gave preferential treatment to donors at the time when
The capacity of the foundation is $2 billion. Chief executive of the foundation, Maura Pall, has announced that it is acceptable for such a huge organization to make "mistakes", but the team is there in order to act quickly and resolve the problems and ensure they do not happen in the future. Chief executive described that overall revenue numbers sent to International Revenue Service (IRS) were all right, the only problem was that the foreign-government numbers were combined with other donors by mistake. There is need to mention that Clinton Foundation have a complicated structure; it includes 11 charitable initiatives and each of them separately send their tax revenues to IRS. The main objective of the foundation is to reduce the level of poverty in the world and financial help for low income children.
The case has a political side and the emphases of the problem is on the revenues got from foreign donors. The solution the organization suggests is to disclose the donors in order to appear transparent in the eyes of other partners and the society. This is what they mean correcting the "mistake".
