Poroshenko Call the Minsk Agreement a "Pseudo-Ceasefire"
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in an interview given to a German television channel ZDF, called the Minsk agreement a "pseudo-ceasefire," Reuters reports. However, he assured that Kiev does not intend to renew hostilities in Donbas, as the settlement of the conflict is not possible by force.
Poroshenko also mentioned that the priority for the armed forces of Ukraine is to strengthen their defense capability, as the armed supporters of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics may try to establish an overland route to Crimea and take Mariupol.
On Wednesday, Petro Poroshenko held talks in Berlin with Chancellor Angela Merkel. "I believe that we still do not have an agreement implemented by the parties," - said Merkel before a meeting in Berlin, adding: "We are going to move in the direction we intended with the so-called Normandy four format. This is an exhausting work, but Ukraine deserves our support."
