Sunburns: How to Avoid This?
Not only those, who rest on the beach may get sunburn, but also tourists who just visit sightseeings and spend too much time in the sun. Because of the direct impact of UV radiation the skin becomes red, "inflamed" and starts to ache. In some cases, solar burns are followed by blisters, itching and flaking, weakness and headache.
The first day of our vacation we should spend no more than 10-15 minutes in direct sunlight. Then you can increase your every day stay in the sun for up to 5-10 minutes. The maximum time should not exceed 1-1.5 hours for the already tanned skin, the experts advise.
People are advised to use SPF creams and lotions for 35-40 minutes before getting tanned. And if you forget to use them, it is better to stay in the shade for a while.
For a "reviving’" antioxidant effect, one should drink a lot of high-quality green tea or natural juices (apple, carrot, orange and pomegranate especially). And in general, when sunbathing, it is advised to eat more fruits, vegetables.
The most popular (and perhaps the safest) first-aid tools if sunburnt are national remedies: sour cream, yogurt, chamomile, green tea, raw potato, aloe juice and so on…But sometimes it is easier to get to the nearby pharmacy and get a proper means against sunburns.
The very first steps in many respects depend on the severity of the skin damage. When it comes to strong erosion, and even vomiting, it is better to consult a doctor of course. If a doctor is not available you can take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (paracetamol, ibuprofen) or aspirin - a drug from the group of salicylates. You can also use hydrocortisone ointment which pretty quickly relieves pain and redness. But in any case it is better to consult a doctor beforehand.
