International Sculpture Symposium to Be Held in Shushi (Artsakh)

Artsakhpress

From July 1 to 20, at the initiative of Artsakh Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, the sixth international sculpture symposium named after a sculptor from Shushi Hakob Gyurjyan will be held at the sculpture park of Shushi State Museum of Fine Arts, Artsakhpress reports.

Director of the Shushi State Museum of Fine Arts, Lusine Gasparyan informed that sculptors from all over the world can take part in the symposium.

"The main part of the symposium is the sculpture studio, where under the theme of "Struggle" each of the participants will create their own sculpture. Sculptures created at the studio will remain in Shushi and will be placed at different parts of the town. The symposium aims at contributing to the development of a genre of fine arts — sculpture, in Artsakh; boosting the international cooperation in the field of fine arts; creating a cultural and professional communication platform for the Armenian and foreign artists,  fostering the restoration of Shushi’s cultural image and immortalizing the name of sculptor Hakob Gyurjyan."

Deadline of applications is May 30. Those who want to participate in the symposium can fill in an online application and send it here.
