"Crimea Declaration" Has Been Issued by the State Department
The US state department issued "Crimea Declaration" reaffirming its rejection of "annexation of Crimea". The text of the document is published on the official website of the department.
The document was signed by the State Secretary Mike Pompeo.
The Crimea separated from Ukraine and became a federal subject of Russian Federation according to the referendum, which took place in March 2014. Ukraine, the European Union, the United States and other countries reject the results of the referendum. Moscow states that the referendum has been held in accordance with the norms of international law and the reunification of Crimean peninsula with the Russian Federation is legal.
