One of Last Survivors of Armenian Genocide Dies in Argentina at the Age of 106
Lusine Beredjiklian de Khatcherian one of the last survivors of the Armenian Genocide, died on February 21, at the age of 106, RUSARMINFO reports, referring to Prensa Armenia. All her life Beredjiklian lived in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, and was one of the active members of the local Armenian community.
According to the documents, Lusine Beredjiklian was born in 1909 in the city of Ayntap (now Gaziantep /Turkey).
During the genocide, the Beredjiklian family fled to Syria. In exile, she lost her mother, and some years later - her father.
''It is better not to recall the Genocide. It is impossible to sleep because of these memories'', said Lucine Beredzhiklyan in an interview with the Argentinean edition ''Clarín'' in 2015.
Lusine Beredjiklian together with her brothers and sister moved to Argentina from Syria at the age of 16.
