Azerbaijani Troops Target Highway Leading to Armenian Border Village
Azerbaijan's armed forces on Monday opened fire in the direction of a highway leading to the border village of Baghanis (Tavush region), Tert.am reports.
The community's mayor, Narek Sahakyan, confirmed the report to Tert.am after the incident.
''They fired in the direction of the highway that opens up to the village, but the village wasn't under target. The roadway from Ijevan [lying between the communities of] Aygepar and Baghanis was hit in the shootings,'' he said, adding that the series of gunshots was short.
Sahakyan added that the situation in now calm in the community. He noted that the Baghanis was last targeted in gunfire on September 12, 2018.
