Russia MOD: Ceasefire is Maintained in Karabakh
The ceasefire regime is maintained in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated at a briefing, RIA Novosti reports.
"The ceasefire is maintained along the entire line of contact," Konashenkov said.
He added that, in accordance with the agreements reached—and with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, the exchange of the bodies of the casualties has begun in Shushi.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday night signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan, news.am reports.
