Syrian Fighters Must Leave Nagorno Karabakh Territory
The CSTO has no information on whether the Syrian militants left the region of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said, TASS reports.
"We have information about the presence and actions of the fighters from Syria in the area of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. And we regarded this as certain risks for our countries, for our bloc. Where are these militants now, are they there, it is difficult for me to answer this question, "he said.
According to Zas, now the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is controlled by those forces that are involved in this process - the peacekeeping forces, the forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
''We proceed from the assumption that any mercenaries, Syrian fighters must leave this territory, because the creation of groups of fighters directly near the borders of the country which is a member of the CSTO, contains certain risks for our collective security," the organization's secretary general stressed.
