During the final US presidential debate Trump's relationship with Putin has been the subject of much scrutiny, the Telegraph reports.
Hillary Clinton blamed Donald Trump for as she called being Putin's "puppet." Referring to Trump;s comments on Putin being more clever than Obama, she noted:
"That’s because he’d rather have a puppet as president of the United States."
Trump retorted that he was not friends with Putin, and condemned any foreign interference in the election.
"She doesn’t like Putin because Putin has outsmarted her every step of the way," he said.
He emphasised the strength of Russia's nuclear stockpile, and said the US government had been played for a fool.
"She has been outsmarted and outplayed worse than anybody I have ever seen in any government."
